Reverend Sydney Francis, Founder
I think of myself as a wounded healer, teacher, and mystic. My dad died of brain cancer when I was ten years old. He was my nurturing parent: the person who taught me to paint and the loved one that gave me baths and tickled me.
After his death, I was told not to grieve but to look forward. I felt abandoned, alone, lost and bereft. Like other children with similar traumas, I adopted a story of pain, shame, suffering, and worthlessness that negatively influenced my self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth.
In my teens, I was raped twice and experienced a mass shooting at my college. By the time I graduated college at 20, I was on my own and in deep emotional pain. The traumas I had experienced had accumulated and weighed me down more than I realized. After getting in a car accident where I drove off a cliff into the Colorado River, I had a Divine Intervention which pointed me in the direction of seeking a healing path for myself and to share with others.
In 1993, I started studying energy healing, spirituality, and psychology. I have studied with Reverend Rosalyn L. Bruyere and Master Ken Weintrub of the Healing Light Center Church (HLCC). At HLCC, I studied theology, healing arts, and the sacred mysteries. In 2023, I got ordained as Reverend and became a minister of prayer and healing through HLCC’s seminary, the Crucible Program.
In addition, I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Art in 2001, combining the fields of psychology, spirituality, and visual art to innovate a transformative healing art modality that reconnects body and spirit, in order to heal the existential pain that comes from feeling disconnected from Spirit.
I have been teaching people of all ages since 2000. I have been an instructor at the University of Arizona, taught Visual Art at Coconino Community College, and taught art and Elementary Education from Moab, UT to Shenzhen, China.
“I have been on a long journey to gather effective tools and practices for healing yourself and develop your spiritual gifts. At SEE, I endeavor to share those tools and practices with you so that you can receive the blessing of your spiritual gifts and access your unique potential”.
